2008 Distinctive Plan & Design Awards
On September 5-6, the Home Builders Association played host to building and design professionals from across the country in town to judge the best in Kansas City new home construction and design. The experts spent the weekend touring, critiquing and grading the homes entered in this year’s Pick of the Parade and Distinctive Plan & Design contests.
Each entry is judged on a specific set of building or design criteria developed and refined by a committee of industry professionals. These contests are highly competitive among the builders, a result you see in each of the winning homes.
The Distinctive Plan & Design contest focuses on interior design and architecture elements; judging is based on criteria such as floor plan layout, lighting, and use of space within the home. Homes entered in this contest are complete with fabulous interior design and furnishings. This year’s contest has homes in 15 price categories, with homes competing for the First Place and Second Place trophies.
