Spring Blossoms for the Big Show at Bartle Hall
HOME SHOW and Flower, Lawn & Garden Show
Returns Downtown March 27-30

For 60 years, generations of Kansas City homeowners have jump started spring with expert advice and showcases of the latest products and designs for home improvement thanks to the Greater Kansas City HOME SHOW and Flower, Lawn & Garden Show. This year’s event presented by GMC and produced by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City returns to Bartle Hall for four big days March 27-30 and features an array of resources designed to help Kansas City consumers make smart decisions for their home and garden.

For the latest tools and gadgets along with a shot of inspiration, the Flower, Lawn & Garden Show features 11 spectacular gardens celebrating the great outdoors and creating nearly an acre of landscaping full of vibrant colors, rich aromas and fantastic flora. The show spotlights the area’s top landscape artists and features hundreds of exhibitors displaying the latest garden tools and equipment.

The Outdoor Living Stage presented by Time Warner Cable features HGTV’s Gardening by the Yard host Paul James and “The Renegade Gardener” Don Engebretson. James is well versed in the challenges faced by Midwestern gardeners and able to answer questions about every garden dilemma imaginable while Engebretson is an award-winning garden journalist who will share tips on creating container gardeners avoiding the most common garden blunders.

With many Kansas City consumers contemplating home improvement and remodeling projects, the HOME SHOW is the only place to find “The NARI Neighborhood … A Remodeling Showcase.” An exclusive partnership between the HOME SHOW and the local chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, The NARI Neighborhood spotlights the area’s leading remodeling contractors and suppliers in one easy to shop location. Appearing on The NARI Neighborhood Stage will be Nadia Geller, featured designer on TLC’s While You Were Out and Trading Spaces. Geller will share her tips for creating stunning looks and designs that are both functional and down-to-earth.

“Going green” is growing in popularity and this year’s show offers special resources dedicated exclusively to environmentally friendly home products. The UMB Green Pavilion is the place to find products that focus on energy conservation, recycling and reuse along with tips on how you can make your home green. The HOME SHOW’s focus on energy efficiency includes the purchase of renewable energy credits by Kansas City Power & Light to offset the carbon generated at the show.

The Big Show always means fun for the whole family, and this year’s highlights include appearances by the Kansas City Disc Dogs and Camp Curious presented by Johnson County Library and Mid-Continent Public Library where kids of all ages will have fun, educational experiences including science discoveries and story times. Wayside Waifs is back with their popular pet adoption center and kids can decorate and plant a garden pot of their very own from Powell Gardens to take home.

The Greater Kansas City HOME SHOW and the Kansas City Flower, Lawn & Garden Show is produced by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City and is the metro’s premier home products and services event with more than 650 exhibiting companies including thousands of home improvement and remodeling services over four big days.
