MARKETING
STATEMENT
The Marketing Statement is one of the most important parts of the entry. There is no length requirement, but marketing statements should include a description of the marketing ideas behind the entry, such as target audience, message being conveyed, intended results and results obtained. Entries will be given a point score based on the marketing statement and its relevance to the entry. Marketing statements for individual categories (i.e. Best Rookie New Home Sales Agent, etc.) should also outline any professional certifications, contributions to the industry, Sales and Marketing Council involvement and general business philosophy. The MAME Committee reserves the right to verifying information provided.

ELIGIBILITY
Membership in the Home Builders Association (HBA) and the Sales and Marketing
Council (SMC) is required for participants in the MAME awards. HBA
membership is company based, meaning if that company is an HBA member, all
of its employees are considered members. SMC is an individual membership
belonging only to one person (who must be employed by an HBA member company). HBA
membership is $515 per year and SMC membership is $75 per year. To
join the HBA or SMC, call Tammy
Fiscus at (816) 733-2227.
JUDGING
Entries
will be judged by both building
industry professionals and marketing/advertising
professionals. Overall scores
will be determined by assigning
point values to various aspects
of the entry. These points will
then be averaged to give the
overall entry value. The judges'
scores must average at least
35 on a scale of 50 for an award
to be given. Judges' comments
for your entries will be made
available to you following the
contest, upon request.
RULES & REGULATIONS
The entry must have been completed and in full use at some time between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2007. The MAME committee reserves the right to require confirming documents.
Any entry that is submitted to a specific price category must include appropriate price verification (i.e. MLS listing, advertising flyer, etc.).
Homes, developments and/or projects cannot be entered in more than one housing style category (i.e. John Doe Villas cannot be entered as multi-family and single family). The most appropriate category should be chosen and all entries must be submitted in that one category.
Homes, developments and/or projects cannot be entered in more than one price category (i.e. John Doe Villas cannot be entered as $300,001-$400,000 and $600,001 and above). The most appropriate category must be chosen and all entries must be submitted in that one category. Price verification is required.
The exact same binder and marketing materials cannot be submitted in more than one category (i.e. If entering one product, community, or home in both the builder and community categories, the binder materials must be tailored for each of the different categories and cannot be duplicate entries or materials).
Previous MAME winners cannot be re-submitted. For example, a logo, advertisement, model home, sales center, etc. that previously won but has not incurred any changes or updates is no longer eligible to win an award. However, if you have redesigned your logo, or opened a new sales center since the last MAME awards, please enter it in the appropriate category.
Entries must be completed when delivered to the HBA office in order to be accepted.
Winning entries will become property of the HBA for one full year from the Spring Awards ceremony date. Entries that are removed from the HBA before that time period are subject to penalties.
MAME winners that choose to display their designations on any sign or advertisement must clearly state the year the award won and full category name, including the Metropolitan Award for Marketing Excellence distinction. The date and the category are required to be no less than two font sizes smaller than the surrounding text.
Any entrants who choose not to follow these regulations may be prohibited from entering the MAME awards for one full year. The MAME committee also reserves the right to remove any signs or displays that do not meet these regulations.
